okay, since we were unable to attend the announcement of the new leaders,
i shall do a official handover speech here :D

like what i said in the duper summarised version of my 'speech',
it was nice being here :D
personally,
i will rly miss the orchestra because there has really been lots of memories here.
no matter good or bad ones, it's still brought much wonderful memories.
idk if you guys have experienced the same feeling i had whenever i sit quietly during friday practices.
if you sit there & listen carefully, you'll find that the music we make is truly amazing.
no, really.

it's the harmonious music we play TOGETHER as a family that overcomes any disputes we may have amongst ourselves. no matter how there is unhappiness within the orchestra, the music we play will always SHINE as one.

various types of instruments,
various types of people,
yet the same music flows within.

you've got to experience it yourself to understand what i mean (:
shall divide this post in different sections:

teachers
thank you for everything,
for teaching us all that we've come to know & stuff.
thank you for always tolerating our late dismissals.
thank you for helping us out.

new leaders
accepting your position means accepting responsibility.
all of you must serve the orchestra with all your passion,
& influence the juniors to do their best too! there will be difficult times,
especially for those new sls & asls.
but don't hesitate to approach the seniors if you need help.
we may have stepped down, we may be less involved.
but this doesn't mean we're not part of the orchestra!
remember,
every orchestra member,
regardless of graduated or not is always part of the HICO family & will always be :D

secondary ones
y'all are still new in the orchestra, so do give ur utmost respect to your seniors.
although i don't hope for any of you to quit,
but if you rly don't want to stay on, it's pointless for us to keep you back.
this period of plain practices every lesson will be boring.
but when you get to play a full song w/ the rest of the orchestra, it's all worth it!
it takes time for you to learn how to appreciate the teamwork we have.
once you've cleared this period of monotonous practices, it'll be fun :D
i hope that y'all will be able to find your passion within the orchestra soon :D
persevere on! :D

secondary twos
congrats, y'all have cleared the first year of mundane practices!
you're not the lil ones in the orchestra now, so learn to mature up alrd.
haha, you still can play & joke around for leisure,
but do know when is the right time.
rmb to play your part as a senior too :D

secondary threes
most of you have been chosen to serve as leaders, so do ur best for it!
work hard with the new exco to bring HICO to greater heights :D
for those who haven't got any post, don't be disheartened.
you're still a senior in the orchestra.
so you've still got responsibilities of a senior.
no slacking for you (:
do buck up for both your studies & the orchestra.
y'all are the bunch that we're closest to right? (i think so)
so i believe that y'all won't be shy about asking us for help!

our new chairman & vice-chairman will go on stage tomorrow morning w/ me & shimin for Athenium Day.

anyway, i hope that you guys can support our new EXCO members & the sectional leaders.
due to time constraint, we were unable to deal w/ things the ideal way.
but we have also taken in suggestions from various people before we decided on these leaders.

heys guys!
okays syf is over &
i think today you all should be feeling better le
to me no matter what result we got,
you all are still the best.
the medal might be just a bonus
but what we got is something better
i believe through this,
you all did learn something that no medal can replace
the bonds between you and the others?
the process we had?
even so we got a bronze but to the sec 1 & 2,
you all still got one more chance.
so work harder! jiayou!
i believe you all can acheive something=)
sec 3 & 4s, although this might be the last tym for syf,
but tgt we still had put on a great performance.
rmb the medal is a bonus of what they gave
but we are up on the stage to show them OUR music
so a big thank you to all of you who piece up this music,
for all the hard work that you all had put in,
of cos not forgetting out helpers for their tym and effort.

results are out!
yep, we've gotten a bronze.
i know many of you are very disappointed & even created a crying massacre outside hg mall today, bt we've done our best alrd.
it's over, & we can't change anything.
many of you have worked rly hard all this time, i've seen it.
thanks to the helpers & thank you all for your hardwork & effort put in these 2 yrs (:

to the sec 4s: this is our last time performing together, & im sorry we didn't exactly get the best finishing as we expected. but, i believe we've had many fun times together these 4 yrs! let's jst keep those memories & 'haunt' our juniors for nxt SYF! xD

to all HICO members, once again, thankyou!
as i've said today, cca will be stepped down till further notice.
tmr's announcement will be a hard moment for many of us, but let's stay strong :D
we know we rocked, we know we tried.

jst want to tell you guys, although during this past yr serving as your chairman, i've scolded many of you & i knw many of you don't like me, bt rly, i cherish each & everyone of you.

i'd like to commend that the improvements & effort made by all of you is really great,
& i believe that we've all been working hard for the moment next Monday.
firstly, i would like to thank all of you for putting in your best all this time.
secondly, i'd wish to tell all of you to relax & jst do your best on Monday!

i understand some of you are really stressed up, & we've witnessed it today.
but, as long as you've tried your best, we've all got the award we wanted :D
like what Mr Pang said, all that matters is we've enjoyed the process.
whtever award we get in the end is just a bonus for us.

HICO, believe & we can do it.

WE HAVE FINALLY CHANGED OUR STOREROOM!! :DD

yups, thanks to those girls who came to help out (:
spent almost 3hrs to move everything to our new store!
so ppl, treasure the neatness & MAINTAIN it!!

the camp forms have been distributed & those who are unable to attend are to approach either Ms Cheng/me/shimin. at least a parent letter is required.
then, we will decide if you are allowed to be absent for the camp or not.
1. If you are a SYF participant, you are required to attend the camp.
2. Members MUST attend the orchestra practices even if you do not attend camp.
3. All new members are required to attend the camp.

those who fail to meet the above requirements & are applying to be absent from camp are to meet Ms Cheng asap.
our camp is a 3D2N 'course', so you must stay over in school till the camp is over.

i believe majority of you have been notified of the date we're going to be competing in SYF'09.
yes, it's on the 20th of April 2009.

this means 2 things:
1. We have less time to prepare for the competition than other schools.
2. Our principal, Ms Soh, will be coming with us to watch the competition.

so, i hope that all SYF participants can rly buck up more, & we will be able to attain a Silver/Gold award this year! :D
i know & believe that each & everyone of you have what it takes to win the award.
together, we can achieve what we desire! :D
let's show the judges what we are capable of, alrights? :D
even Mr Pang said we just need a teeny-weeny bit more to get the Silver award!
a Gold award is also possible if we just put in more effort!

as the SYF dates draw nearer & nearer, our expectations of u will increase .

i've noticed the declining attendance of some of you.
let me make this clear once more:
1. Practices on Wednesday, Thursdays & Fridays are COMPULSORY.
(except for the exemption of non-SYF members on Thursday & Friday)
2. If there is no valid reason for being absent, u will be dealt with accordingly.

pls do not treat all of this as a joke, cause it's not.

this will only be the outline, & as for further details i will not mention again.
alrights, so i'll be starting... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... now!

2nd February 09 [1515-1615]

before leaving for SCH,
1. 12pm: Be out of your classroom .
2. 1200pm-1230pm: Break/Lunch .
3. 1230pm SHARP: Be at the Multi-purpose Room & start moving the instruments down .
4. 0130pm: OFF TO SCH~

returning from SCH,
1. 0445pm: Set off from SCH .
2. About 0630pm: END OF SYF REHEARSAL @ SCH .

do remember to bring along your SIGNED form on monday & hand it in any of the EXCOs.
as mentioned today, it is very expensive to rent the stage for just 1 hour.
luck was also needed to allow us to have the timeslot .
so please give your utmost attention & put aside your joking attitude .
* troublemakers will not be tolerated .

problems aside, it's time to remember that we're a TEAM & so, let's buck up together! :D

HOHO, this time ain't any notices or whatsoever.
just dropping by to post on a v.random mood. :D

okay let's see.
sec 1s recruitment was alright, with more turnouts than expected.
so initially was 12 right?
now it's increased to im-not-sure-how-many.
some are sec 3s, one is from sec 2, & others are sec 1s who changed their minds.
it's a very good thing though!! & some of them are non-chinese!
all seniors must help to guide them along okay? :D

i know some of them aren't able to choose their desired instruments cos some sections need more people, & some sections are overloaded.
so people, please help to make them feel at home in the orchestra!!
after all, we must treat one another like family! :DD
we're expanding now, & the multipurpose room ain't enough to store us all.
we'll be moving our CO store to another room beside the flexiroom.
hopefully, mr gwee can help us to take away the wall, then we can store the oh-so-many of us!!

i believe tht many of you are aware that one door to the store is spoiled, so whenever your class may be using the multipurpose room, please help to ensure that no one gets into the store.

next monday to wednesday is Secondary Two Adventure Camp!
some of you don't want to go, but sads, you have to.
seriously, it's very fun!! (:
therefore, on practice sessions on tuesday & wednesday, we won't see any sec 2s around.
for the OBS period, we won't be seeing the sec 3s around either.
& from week 5 onwards, you'll be seeing less of your lovable sec 4 seniors!

extra practices:
practice will resume this coming wednesday.
there will also be extra practice on thursdays.
so practices will be on wednesday, thursday & fridays @ the normal timing.
all for the sake of SYF coming this April.
i can hear your grumbles already, but it's a no choice thing. (:

like what i've mentioned before, we'll be having our SYF rehearsal on the 2nd Feb.
all sec 3 students going for OBS will be excused for OBS Day One.

There will be an outing to Kallang Leisure Park.
Do what lei? Ice skate! Bowling! Or whatever.
Just an outing, actually if you don't want to ice skate,
you can do whatever you want there.
By the way, as OSSCO will be having practice on that day,
OSSCO members may not be joining us on that day.
(Otherwise we'll have to change the date)

Time/Venue: 10am @ Hougang MRT
What to Bring: At least $20 of cash & gloves(if possible).

HEYAS EVERYONE!!!
it's me again!

GREAT PERFORMANCE WE HAD!!!
hope that through this performance, all of you has benefited in someway or another.
some of you may have built friendships,
some of you may have grown with experience,
some of you may have gotten to higher standards of music.
no matter what you've reaped from this whole event, i wish to say:
HICO, YOU'VE DONE WELL!! :DD

not only have you individuals grown, but the whole orchestra too.
we've built relations with Outram Secondary, HK's Ko Lui Secondary School & Malaysia's Kluang Chong Hwa High School.
hope that all of you has gotten wonderful memories of the concert that ended this evening.
it may have ended, but the friends you've made will not disappear (if you keep in contact with them that is xP)

here, i wish to thank OSS for presenting this opportunity to us, & being such a great host. i also wish to thank KLSS & KCHHS for attending this concert with us, & let our common interest create such a rare event. everyone has done well!

if there were any unhappiness during this whole journey, try to forget them & just remember the good memories. let this rare opportunity have a beautiful place inside your life.

We have completed the above striked events already.
Open House was a job well done by Hui Han & Zhong En.
Our Anniversary Dinner performance was also a great one!

Do practice hard & master the songs we are to perform.

Remember, we are not playing within our own orchestra anymore.
We're combining orchestras, & it would be difficult to adjust to another conductor.
I believe none of you would like to be said as the worst orchestra members.
So if you don't want that to happen, please practice hard.
It's not about only you now, it's about everyone.
So do put in your best for this!

All upcoming Orchestra Practices are listed in the timetable given out to you.
Do not be absent from any of the performances, rehearsals & practices without a valid reason, Medical Certificate or a SIGNED parent letter, to be given straight to either any of the EXCOs or any of the Teachers-In-Charge.
Especially for the rehearsals & performances, if you are unable to turn up because of some emergency, please inform any one of your friends to convey the message to us, or just tell us directly. This is to ensure that we are aware of your whereabouts, so we are able to explain your absence if need be.

We will be combining orchestras with another school for the following songs:
Ko Lui Secondary School (HK) - 《飞天》
Outram Secondary School - 《天山之春》
Finale Item - Matsuri
Some of the songs may not be conducted by Mr Pang.

Do put in your best in every note you make, for it will affect the whole song.

tomorrow (15 Oct) will be the first orchestra practice after the exams.
do report at the usual time, & this time, it will be a rehearsal @ the hall for the 50th anniversary. from tomorrow onwards, orchestra practice will resume as per normal.

HELLO PEOPLE! back to post here!
anyway, today's the first day of school for Term 4.
how's everyone going on about it?
it's only 18 days till the EOYs!! so do buck up & here, i hope all of you will excel yea?

please remember that practice resumes this wednesday!
CCA will step down on 22/9/08, resuming on 13/10/08.
so there will be 4 more practices to go before the break. do treasure them!
all of you will need to buck up ALOT for our performance coming up.
i've found videos for 茉莉花, so i hope that all of you can take a look at it.
there are different versions, and i do hope that you'll take a look at each of them! happy watching & listening! :)

today's NDP celebration & Olympics'08 opening ceremony.
okay, back to topic. (NDP.)

today, all of you have cleared up the stage quite fast.
i applaud your efficency, urgency & responsibility.
GOOD JOB! KEEP IT UP! :D
but there are still spaces for improvement alrights?
don't get too relaxed over the 4-day weekend.
there'll still be more & more practices to come for preparation for SYF'09.
my advice is:
-finish all your academic catching up & settle them asap.
-relax & have fun, but do get your mind back by monday.
this is to ensure that you won't get too stressed up after the holidays.
& you can enjoy your break, but don't get scolded when school's open again.
you don't have to follow this, it's just friendly advice. :)

there'll still be more performances lined up, so be prepared.
